BioI was born at a very early age, in a place called Worksop. For the uninitiated, Worksop is in the northern bit of Robin Hood County - surrounded by fields and bits of the once-great Sherwood Forest.
I spent most of my early years in a monastery, educated by the brothers of the Hooded Order of Brown Priors. They would wander around the Priory chanting weird incantations, stopping only to flagellate themselves. This had a profound effect on the young Humphry, and explains so many things about my personality.
Living in Robin Hood County has positive and negative influences. For example - you are able to have a wander in Sherwood Forest and commune with the piskies that live in the ancient oaks - great stuff! But on the other hand, you have to be uber careful not to wear anything with a hood since you are likely to be arrested for being an outlaw. (I once took my wife's mother into Sherwood and specifically asked her to wear her lovely hooded top. Sadly the Sheriff's men only arrest outlaws and not inlaws.)
